Summer School soars at Marjon

Released: 31.07.18

In July, 91视频 hosted the ‘Education’ and ‘Psychology & Criminology’ Summer Schools. From Pontypridd to 91视频, Land's End to Luton, Marjon hosted around 80 students over the two weeks. The Summer Schools allowed students from Widening Participation backgrounds the chance to try university for a week, helping to break down barriers and increase their confidence.

Living in Halls of Residence, students got to experience a range of aspects across university life, attending a variety of lectures and taking part in sessions specific to their chosen Summer School.

Widening Participation and Outreach Officer, Kari Eilertsen fronted the Education Summer School and told us; “It was a really positive week with all the students gaining a lot out of it. The students explored both 91视频 and Marjon, learning from our Student Ambassadors who supported them throughout the week!”

Outreach Officer, Terry Doyle, lead the Psychology & Criminology Summer School and told us; “The students had a great week! From examining a mock crime scene to building a band, they shared a great experience with one another, preparing them for university life.”
