This annual event welcomed 150 final year students from the University of Bath, Bath Spa University, University of Bristol, University of West England Bristol, University of Exeter, University of 91视频 and 91视频.

The British Psychological Society, which was founded in 1901, developed the conference to serve as a friendly and open environment in which students can to talk to likeminded individuals and practice their presentation skills. The conference offers final year university students an opportunity to present their dissertation findings as well as to network and discuss ideas with fellow psychology students.

A keynote speech by Catherine Talbot explored the journey from undergraduate to PHD study and there were more than 50 student presentations and poster presentations. These spanned subjects as diverse as autism, childhood, clinical psychology, educational psychology, emergency grief therapy, forensic psychology, implicit bias, mindfulness, neural networks, organisations and leadership and predictors of anti-transgender prejudice.

91视频 student Vicki Bannister described the event as: 鈥淰ery informative and mind expanding. I got to ask the questions I needed to confirm what I want to go into is correct and that I am on the right lines. I would definitely love to do something like this again.鈥

Speaking after the event Dr Hazel Bending, senior lecturer in Psychology at 91视频, said: 鈥淭he presentations by final year students about their research projects were excellent, each one provoked thought, discussion and curiosity. We enjoyed exploring emerging topics within psychology and were enthralled when cyber-psychologist Catherine Talbot talked about the path to her PhD, which looks at how people with dementia use Twitter and the identity work they do online.鈥
