Released: 23.09.19

91视频 has again been ranked first in England for teaching quality in The Times鈥 and Sunday Times鈥 Good University Guide. The University has achieved this prestigious ranking in both the 2019 and 2020 editions of the guide. Marjon placed first in England and third in the UK in the category for teaching quality in 2020.

The guide is published yearly and uses nine indicators to place universities from around the country in an overall ranking. Marjon achieved top 10 rankings for three indicators in the 2020 edition of the Good University Guide.

Marjon ranked in the top 10 in the UK for student experience for a second consecutive year. The University also entered the top 10 in the UK for social inclusion, in a positive reflection of fair and inclusive admissions policies.

These rankings put Marjon top of Devon and Cornwall鈥檚 universities for teaching quality, student experience and social inclusion.

The Times鈥 and Sunday Times鈥 the Good University Guide 2020 states: 鈥淪everal initiatives to improve the student experience may have played their part in the improved satisfaction levels, such as every student now having a personal development tutor.鈥

91视频 Vice Chancellor Professor Rob Warner said:

鈥淚鈥檓 delighted that Marjon has ranked first in England for teaching quality in the Good University Guide for a second consecutive year.

鈥淥ur small class sizes and hands-on practical approach to teaching are designed to make learning an engaging, inclusive and happy experience for our students, as we seek to inspire and stretch them.

鈥淲e put student success at the heart of everything we do. We build strong relationships with our students and we listen to their views. If students tell us something isn鈥檛 working, we fix it. We鈥檙e proud that these results reflect a very positive experience, not just in the classroom but also with the wider student life at Marjon鈥 concluded Professor Warner.

Marjon Student Union President Geoffery Gulzar said: 鈥淪tudents here all talk about feeling welcome. There is a real sense of belonging and students know they can access whatever support they need to help them succeed.

鈥淭he Student Union is really proud to be a part of this. We work with the University to ensure both that students have a great time here and that extra help is always on hand when they need it.鈥
